- Parole Board hearings are open to the public. If you would like to attend a parole hearing we ask that you please notify our office in
advance so accommodations can be made. You need to contact Lori Rankin at (515)-725-5760.
- Attendees shall conduct themselves in a manner consistent with decorum appropriate for a public meeting of a governmental agency. Any
activity deemed inappropriate by the Board of Parole under the general guidelines in the rules may result in a request from the Board to
the offending party or parties to leave the premises and be escorted from the building.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult, due to the nature of these proceedings.
Registered victims are allowed to make a statement to the Board of Parole, in accordance with the Iowa Code. Family, friends, attorneys,
media, and other members of the public may observe the proceedings but may not participate.
Conduct of the media: Broadcasting, televising, recording and photographing will be permitted in the interview room during open sessions
of the Board session only when the Board has received advanced notice. All media equipment and personnel shall be in place at least 15
minutes prior to the scheduled time of commencement of the proceeding. For further information please review Administrative Rules section 8.14.
There will be no interviews granted with any Board of Parole members before, during or after the hearings. Please direct any questions to
the Board of Parole representative. They will provide your questions to the Board.
- Members of the public are allowed to attend hearings, but are not allowed to speak or give statements at hearings. They are only allowed
to observe the hearing.
